Event Details

Breathe Deep Central Illinois, a 5K run/2-mile walk, is a grassroots event that was started in 2009 by a Central Illinois family who lost a loved one to lung cancer. The event, held at Tipton Park North, has continued to grow and raise funds to end lung cancer. In addition to the 5K run and 2-mile walk, the event offers live entertainment, food, kids' activities including face painting and a bounce house, silent auction, and a raffle, making a day the entire family can enjoy! Our motto is "until there is an end to lung cancer...we won't stop."

Honor Wall

An honor wall will be set up to display photos of your loved ones along with notes of encouragement and/or remembrance. You can bring something already prepared or use our supplies to create your own on site. At the end of the event you may leave your photos for us to make a scrapbook or take them home with you. If you are unable to make our event but want to send something for us to hang on our honor wall, please contact centralillinois@lungevity.org.

Plant honor marker

Honor markers, each with a customized tribute message, will be placed along the event course to guide walkers and runners. To order your tribute message, download a form here. Forms must be in our Chicago office no later than Friday, October 4, 2013.
