Breathe Deep Blue Ridge 5K Run is a grassroots event planned and managed by the Mercier Family Orchards in Blue Ridge, Georgia.  Melissa Mercier Lillard, a third generation family member, was diagnosed in February 2011 with stage IV lung cancer. She was never a smoker, nor was anyone in the family. We want to raise awareness that lung cancer is no longer just a smoker's disease, and that lung cancer has no boundaries.  So please come and enjoy a brisk run or a fun walk through the apple blossoms at Mercier Orchards on April 20, 2013 and be a part of a great cause.  The route is pet-friendly, provided they are leashed and cleaned up after. All of the proceeds go to the LUNGevity Foundation to fund research, early detection, and lung cancer awareness. In addition to the 5K run/walk, we will offer food and live entertainment for the whole family.
