LUNGevity HOPE Summits are two-day conferences specifically for lung cancer survivors, defined as anyone who has ever been diagnosed with lung cancer of any stage, in or out of active treatment. The National HOPE Summit is held each year during May, Lung Cancer Hope Month. Regional HOPE Summits are being added to the calendar as well.
The summits provide an opportunity for participants to learn, collaborate, advocate, and use their voices and stories to make a difference in the fight against lung cancer. The summits feature inspirational speakers, medical expert forums, advocacy forums, lung cancer survivor-specific sessions, and opportunities for lung cancer survivors to connect with other survivors and share their stories with the public and the media. There are sessions for survivors in active treatment and others for those out of treatment to address their specific needs.
There is a $50 registration fee for the HOPE Summits, but everything else at the event is free, including the sessions, materials, and meals. A limited number of travel grants (generously subsidized by our sponsors) are available to help survivors cover their travel costs.
Another option is to join the Survivors' Challenge: raise $1,000 or more, and we'll reward you with an all-expenses-paid trip to the next National HOPE Summit in the Washington, DC, area, including airfare, hotel, and all meals and ground transportation.
